What Self-Catering Means for Guests
Self-catering is the perfect way for travelers that are flexible and independent. It's an accommodation that forms the perfect rest spot for people who care just as much for the adventure as for the destination itself.
Self-catering accommodation means freedom and with it comes the responsibility of taking care of yourself. You'll have a pool to yourself, bathrooms, showers, baths and a veranda to relax on. Listen to the birds sing in perfect tranquility without being bothered by staff or other guests. There will also be a fully furnished kitchen with stoves, a fridge, kettle as well as utensils and cookware.
It's often lower cost as there's no chef or managers to call but then again that also means you can treat the place as if it were your own home, a peace of mind that's hard to come by. If guests are planning on staying for more than a night then cleaning staff can almost always be accessed to turn the room over every day or every few days depending on your preferences.

These locations, ours especially, are very central to the town allowing guests to embark on tours and other activities with ease.
The Exclusive Use African Olive
This cottage, as viewed above and below, is the perfect getaway for a small group or family. The cottage sleep 4 guests total in two bedrooms. It close to the front gate which makes for perfect pop outs to the town for shopping, drinks or even early rise activities.

There is both a cold-water jaccuzi and a swimming pool, which might sound strange but the heat of the lowveld is not to be underestimated, with a braai facility. Guests can relax in the cool water within sight of their meat on the fire. Of course there is a gas stove if you're not willing to wait for the fire along with a fridge, cutlery, crockery and everything you need to make coffee.
Stay at the African Olive and relax, there's a TV with Netflix loaded on for those calm stay in nights and a strong Wi-Fi connection, or use it as a pit stop on your adventures through town. It's family friendly and Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate only has plains game which means walking, running, cycling and even horseback riding are all options at this accommodation.

The Rooibos Luxury Bush Cottage's Blissful Promise
Hide from the world in this luxurious little cottage. Perfect for partners this lodge has only one bedroom and sleep two people. Every aspect of it exudes culture, art and, of course, romance. The bedroom is open planned and looks straight out across the swimming pool and into the bush. Every aspect of this accommodation is put together with freedom and privacy in mind.
The cottage can be serviced on demand and comes equipped with a braai space, a kitchenette, swimming pool and Wi-Fi. It is simple, elegant and perfect for those who just need a chance to slow down. The walls are covered with African art and all the furniture is patterned similarly, very feng-shui. The kitchen counter with bar stools and comfortable couch also allows you and your companion to remain in company.
Additionally game drives and bicycles can be arranged without leaving the property. Of course the owners will be happy to help with any in and out of town activities that you might care to enjoy together as well and if you enjoy a meal at a local restaurant it's just a short drive back to your lodging.
A Home Away From Home at Impala Cottage
Impala Cottage seeks to give you that feeling of home even in the heart of the bush. It's got a fully equipped kitchen, including a large fridge, a dining space and a television with Netflix. This cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 people. It also has a solid Wi-Fi connection so you never have to be disconnected.
The owners understand particularly the difficulty load shedding can bring so in their recent renovation of the home they have installed an inverter linked to the internet and some of the lights. Additional lights which are rechargeable and portable are also supplied. Although during the day a little load shedding is a good excuse to get in the pool and cool off from the heat.
